FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who are we?

I’m a mum to a young primary school child who cares deeply about emotions — understanding what you’re feeling and knowing it’s always okay to feel that way. What matters is how we recognise and express those emotions. I grew up as a child who was often misunderstood by myself and the adults around me, and I don’t want that cycle to continue. The tools I’ve created are inspired by my own experiences as a parent, alongside things I’ve learned through working with professionals over the years. My hope is to help other families strengthen connection and emotional awareness, both for children and for parents.

2. How did we get started?

After being made redundant, I began creating Little Scribbler Reflections™ based on what I naturally do with my son. He’s very emotionally aware for his age, and I wanted to nurture that. I also noticed many parents want to encourage emotional openness but sometimes struggle to get more than an “I’m fine” or “I don’t remember” from their child. These notepads and tools aren’t designed as a quick fix — they’re gentle conversation starters to help you and your child get into each other’s thoughts and feelings. The key is consistency, not just using them on “big feelings” days.

3. Who are The Calm Pages™ for?

Adults or teenagers who want to express themselves and “journal” in a lighter way — without needing to write essays or think too much.

4. Who is the Little Feelings Scribbler™ for?

Ideally children up to around age 8, though every child is different. You know your child best, so feel free to adapt.

5. Who is Little Scribbler Reflections™ for?

Parents, guardians, carers, teachers, and SENCOs — it’s designed to reflect on Little Feelings Scribbler™ entries but can also be used on its own as a tool for noticing and supporting children’s emotions.

6. Is there a correct way to use the books?

No! You can use them however feels right for you and your child. Each notepad includes a QR code on the first page which links to a simple guide for ideas and inspiration, but ultimately there’s no “wrong” way.

7. Do you work with professionals?

No, these resources come from my own lived experiences as a parent. Some of the ideas I’ve included have been shaped by my own journey and the insights I’ve gained through working with professionals, but everything here is based on how I’ve applied them in real life with my family.

8. Are these products therapy?

No. These are not therapy, counselling, or medical advice. They are designed as supportive resources for everyday emotional conversations.

9. Do I need to be creative or good at journaling?

No! And neither am I. That’s why I designed these notepads — they’re light, easy, visual, and approachable.

10. Are these products designed for neurodivergent people?

These resources have been created with neurodivergence in mind, because of my own personal experiences. That means things like using coloured paper, keeping pages light and clear, and avoiding too much writing or overthinking. They’re designed to be accessible for everyone — whether you’re neurodivergent or not — but many families have found the simplicity especially supportive. Please note they are not medical or therapeutic tools.

11. Can these be gifted?

Absolutely. Our products make thoughtful gifts for children, parents, teachers, or SENCOs. If you’d like your order sent directly to someone, we can include a personal note from you — just email us at hello@steadymindsstationery.com after placing your order.

12. Do you have digital versions?

Not yet, but this is something we are planning for the future.
